So I have restarted my journey of self-improvement through physical activities.

I can recall one of my goals for 2023 was to look like Ali Abdaal without hair fall.

This is Ali Abdaal

I COULDN'T ACHIEVE EITHER!

Pretty Silly.

Today I went for a very long walk. Though it was a bit time-consuming but worth every second due to my daily dose of dopamine rush.

Or I just wanted to listen to podcasts in a quiet environment, which is while walking. I made significant improvements in my knowledge through listening to high-quality podcasts and audiobooks while I was going for my evening walks in my hometown. When I shifted to Kochi, I got this gym frenzy and it is quite tough to quietly listen and learn while in a gym.

No offense to gym-goers.

After ages, I restarted listening to Andrew Huberman, my go-to science guy. He is a professor of Neurobiology and ophthalmology at the University of Standford.

In his latest episode, he got David Goggins, the famed author of ‘Can't Hurt Me’.

The theme of the episode was how to build inner strength.

Huberman introduced a new concept called ‘ Anterior Mid-Cingulate Cortex’.

Simply it is an indicator of willpower. If you have immense willpower, the size of AMCC will be high which in turn gives to better longevity.

It can expand or grow in size when you do the hard things your body/mind resists doing. As for me, I have trouble waking up early in the morning to go for a walk. I love walking, so there won't be any change in the size of my AMCC if I go for a walk. But since waking up early is a high-resistance task and I don't wanna get out of the comfort of my bed, to an extent it helps my AMCC to grow.

If you do the things you love, there won't be any increase in size it will shrink AMCC. So it's not good or bad, but trying to do the things makes more discomfort for you. This needs a better amount of willpower which I am trying to build.

So yes, simply just focus on the things that test your boundaries and strength. Let's grow together!
