The Importance Of Having A ‘Me Time’
How much time in a day we really and fully spend for ourselves?. For our well being and mental control?
let's not complicate things. I love to meditate and that's the first thing I ever do after waking up. I don't have to find a place. I just sit in the bed straight, have deep and relaxed breaths. always trying to concentrate on the breathing helps to don't get distracted for a while. We feel the body. Each and every organ and show gratitude for making me stay alive and healthy!
I never meditate for more than five minutes. I know It's too low. Then how effectively you could do that?. for me it's like breaking up meals to diet. People who follow consistent diet protocols, do not eat in 3 goes. Usually, they eat the amount of food they eat in 3 times in five or six times. Are we able to use the same principle to meditate?
For me, when I started sitting down for a while and focusing on the breath, I feel like more oxygen has been pumped into my brain. Thus, the morning brain fog is not an issue for me. I feel energetic, so calm, and more than that, I am able to follow a routine. For a long period, I find it effective.
So back to the question. Are we able to meditate in different fragments of time?.
My experience reflects that meditation or prayer could be easily done if we concentrate on the present moment. This is because I was constantly distracted by uncountable things which never allow me to stay empty-minded. I think multiple things at a time and worry without any cause. But I am so sure, when I started reading books, which are mostly audiobooks, they helped me to get back to a normal state. I listen to audiobooks at least 2 hours a day. This is because I go out for a walk for the same amount of time. I combine both. Thus, I get much time to concentrate, even I am on a move. Two persons, who asserted the importance of being in present. One is Naval and Another one is Jay.
I started enjoying the present moment. I love to stay in bed for a whole, but I have to get up early. So, I previously used to worry about waking up early and ruin the good sleep I should get. But this time, I started to focus on the moments I sleep. Thus I enjoy the time I sleep. And worry about nothing.
I applied this to the majority of things. I worried about death while taking bath. It was a long time routine. I worry about having some weird shit in life while brushing!.
Instead of worrying about that, I focused on the present. I mean by that, I started focusing on material things, like, the texture of the brush, the taste of toothpaste, the sensation it makes on teeth, the cold water, the sound of water when it splashes.
I was lazy and still, I am. This was the major reason why I was distracted.
There is a saying that ‘ fake it till you make it’.
I posed myself as a busy person. I don't complain that I am busy, instead, I feel proud. So there is no room in life to worry. If I have a relaxed day, I always try to find something to do. I plan then I execute.
Execution is the hardest part but, if you try to constantly engage in things even if they are not matters to you(only in the case who have a lot of free time) Life becomes a lot easier.
why are we running after material possessions?
If you think, you are happy with what you have, nothing can replace your emotions. So stay humble, stay alive, stay completely foolish!
